Sir Kevin is CEO of GKN plc. and was awarded the CBE in 1997 and appointed Knight Bachelor in 2007.
He is also currently Co-Chairman with the Minister for Industry of the Government’s Manufacturing Forum, Deputy President of the Society of British Aerospace Companies Ltd and Non-executive Director of Scottish and Southern Energy plc.
In 2007, Sir Kevin and the GKN global executive committed to match fund their 40,000 staff’s philanthropic activities. They have pledged to give up to $1million to Global Angels projects in Africa through a joint venture with Adventure Explorer, Bear Grylls in the Mission Everest project.(www.gknmissioneverest.com)
He joined British Aerospace in 1980, became Commercial Director in 1990 with an appointment to the Military Aircraft Limited Board, Deputy Group Managing Director in1997, Group Managing Director – New Business in 1998, with responsibility for BAe’s Domestic and International Sales and Marketing activities. He continued with these responsibilities until he joined GKN in 1999.
Previously Kevin has also served as an adviser to the Board of GCHQ and as a member of the Ministerial Sub-Committee on Smart Procurement.
