About the Area
The town of Kamakwie a remote community seven hours north  of Freetown, Sierra Leone. It receives virtually no aid whatsoever as many organisations left during or before the  civil war and have yet to return. Sierra Leone is one of the of the world’s poorest countries.

Many children in this area desperately needed shelter and most have no access to an education.  The town itself had just 2 water wells for over 12000 people.
