The Center is a place where street children who are in need can come for help
- .It’s a safe environment and a safe place to sleep rather than the streets.
- Medical help and advice is offered in the clinic, as most children who come to the Center cannot afford hospital treatment
- No child should ever have to go to sleep hungry. Three nutritious meals are provided each day.
- Short vocational courses are included so the older children and young adults can be trained and be better prepared to find employment.
- Advice is offered on from law, health, hygiene and employment.
Education
Older children who visit the Center and no longer want to live on the streets or work in the sex industry, and those who have ran away from home, have not finished their education. The Center arranges for them to attend local colleges, for short vocational courses in barbering and hairdressing, beauty therapy, car mechanics and skills which will lead to employment in the hospitality industry.
With so many hotels in Pattaya, work has been found for many young people, working as waiters, gardeners and bell boys. For those young people wanting to continue their education whilst working, there is non-formal education on Sundays leading to educational certificates. Those not want to return to school or college, are taught vocational crafts, such as making ornamental mirrors, or artificial flowers, providing income opportunities other than returning to the bars of Pattaya.
Health
Many of the visitors to the Center may have lived for long period on the streets, and have been unable to afford medical help. Skin and chest infections are common, as are sexually transmitted diseases. Many of the young people who visit the Center have lived without medical assistance for long periods of time, and many of them live with infections and diseases. They may come with very little knowledge on basic hygiene so advice is offered on leading a healthy life.
Please help us support these children with medicine, schooling, books, musical instruments and food.
