Global Angel Awards & Concert 2011

The annual Global Angel Awards were launched on Friday 2nd December, raising over £90,000 for the charity - What a spectacular event, hosted by Ambassadors Caroline Feraday and Tony Moore! The Awards, including an acoustic concert with Daniel Bedingfield, were followed by an Angels In Concert special hosted by Natasha Bedingfield and featuring Leona Lewis, Joss Stone and John Forte. The Awards allowed us to honour those outstanding Angels who have helped us achieve our vision in the past 6 years and winners included Ambassadors Bear Grylls, Bonita Norris and new Angel John Forte.

The feedback from the evening has been fantastic. Artists Joss Stone & John Forte have both Stepped Up to become new Angel Ambassadors and Leona Lewis loved the 100% Promise and our charity. Presenter & model Lizzie Cundy said, "Amazing night for Global Angels. Thank you Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield and your lovely mum Molly!" We are thrilled at all the praise we have received from guests and artists alike in the aftermath of the Awards and Concert. We are so pleased everyone had such a great time.

Our personal highlights have to come from the mind-blowing performances given by the artists on the night, in particular Natasha Bedingfield's rendition of Prince's 'Purple Rain'. At the end of the concert, all 5 artists took to the stage together, treating us to a once in a lifetime jam session between them. The perfect end to an amazing night, but not before we celebrated Natasha & Daniel's birthday with an amazing cupcake-style birthday cake! Leona Lewis told us, "I loved being a part of the Global Angels concert, it's truly such a wonderful charity that is doing such essential work and saving lives. Their 100% promise is amazing. Supporting them in their mission is something i would encourage everyone to do."

This evening is a perfect opportunity to find out more about the expedition but leaving you with no obligation to sign up. British London 10k Run, July 2011

A team of 30 'Angel Runners' completed the British London 10k Run in support of Global Angels. On Sunday 10th July our team ran over 6 miles through the center of London alongside 25,000 other runners, all sporting Global Angels t-shirts as they powered to the end.

An amazing achievement for our whole team: Our fastest runners came in at 47 minutes from the guys (from Currency Solution's Tien Tran) and 49 minutes from the girls (Sophia Anastasiadis). All of the runners finished in less than 1 hr 30 minutes: an amazing feat, especially on such a hot summers day!

As the first Angels In Action running event, we are off to a great start. The atmosphere on the day was amazing with a huge sense of team spirit and support of Global Angels. Our runners have raised over £1400 so far and the sponsorship keeps on coming in. You can check them out and sponsor here.

A special mention also to Global Angels team '3 Peaks The Hard Way' (find out more here) who used the 10k as a warm up for their 3 Peaks Challenge later this year - they completed the run as they will be completing the 3 Peaks - with a crippling 30kg backpack on!

We would also like to say a huge thankyou to K-Swiss who sponsored the team with some of their amazing running shoes - We had brilliant feedback on the trainers from all the runners commenting on how much they loved them and convinced they had 'go faster' stripes on them which helped the team achieve their excellent times!

We are on the lookout for some more sporting events to take part in soon and hope even more Angels will join in next time!

We have some great photos, below, with thanks to Koroush Mazaheri-Asadi for all his efforts in catching the runners on camera!

Angels In Concert: Soho. July 2011

A Global Angels Team ran the 'British London 10k Run' in July 2011, followed by a great celebration of their success as we hosted 'Angels In Concert: Soho' at London's Freedom Bar.

Featuring Global Angels Ambassadors Rachel Furner, Larissa Eddie (above), Raphaella, Tony Moore and new Angel John Adeleye (X-Factor) the intimate concert was full with a mixture of fans, runners and friends with one thing in common: Supporting Global Angels.

Amazingly, our three girls gave brilliant performances as always, despite having ran the 10k that very morning and without much of a rest inbetween! They were joined on stage by John Adeleye, new to Global Angels and working with us on some future 'Water For Life' projects, along with our regular host Tony Moore who wowed the crowd with a surprize and extremely well received performance of his hit song with the band Cutting Crew: 'I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight'. The audience loved every minute and the evening was a perfect celebration of the achievements of the day.

We'd like to thank everyone who came to the concert and all those who got involved by donating their time. Thank you to Stephen Slater and Ollie Needham for filming the event - We're really looking forward to sharing those videos with everyone when they are ready! Also a huge thanks to photographer Brad Inglis (UBPICS) who again took some spectacular photos for us, see some below. For those who 'Stepped Up' in front of the Angel, you can view your photos on our Facebook page along with the rest of the concert photos! Please email us on info@globalangels.org if you'd like us to send you any.

Our very own Ed Bussey is holding a Global Angels party on the 10th March 2011.

Ed undertook a daring trip, travelling from Resolute Bay in Canada to the North Pole by skiing. Ed has raised almost £10,000 so far to go towards kids in both the UK and Sierra Leone.

On the 10th March Ed will be giving a talk and screening video footage taken during his adventure last May, and would love everyone who supported him to attend and share the memories with him.

Global Angels held an Angel party at Sanctum Soho Hotel on Tuesday 8th February 2011 to bring together philanthropists for a social evening between those who share the Global Angels vision.

Angels in Concert – The Bedford Christmas Show 2010

On the 8th December, Global Angels put on their 2010 Christmas Benefit Show, an 'Angels in Concert' event at The Bedford, in Balham.

The show, hosted by Tony Moore, was an evening filled with music and magic, attended by only 100 guests in this intimate London venue. Daniel Bedingfield headlined the event, supported by Ambassadors Diana Yukawa, who gave a beautiful violin performance, amazing singers Rachel Furner and Larissa Eddie, and our very impressive magician, Chris Dugdale.

The evening was a great success, and we managed to raise funds and awareness for our water projects in Mozambique. Infact, Amy from the Nema Project in Guludo was able to attend the event herself! Which was lovely.

It was a great way to end 2010 on a high note with some close friends and supporters of Global Angels, and we hope that next year we are able to host more events and have even more Angels in attendance!

The photos of the night are amazing! Thankyou so much to Brad Inglis of UBPICS for donating his time and taking them for us, they are a wonderful memory of our concert.

Global Angels Events

Our Angels hold events in the UK and around the world to provide numerous fundraising opportunities for Global Angels. This year we have seen skydives, Everest treks, Angel Parties and more all raising money for kids across the world.

Back in May, Angel Ambassador Bonita Norris became the youngest British female to have ever stood on the sumit of Mount Everest - raising over £13,000 in the process, and still working to raise more!

Our Everest theme has continued later in the year with our Everest Skydive team taking to the mountain with Ambassadors Wendy Smith and Nick Leventis in October to achieve new skydiving records. Nick and his wife Sophie have so fair raised nearly £100,000 for their cause to help refugee kids on the Thai-Burma border.

Another of our Ambassadors Bear Grylls completed his challenge of travelling the 2,500 miles of the infamous ice strewn North West Passage in an inflatable boat! Bear's target of £100,000 is getting closer and will be used to provide safe, fresh drinking water for kids in Africa.

We are so proud of all our Ambassadors and everyone who has hosted events in aid of Global Angels - if you would like to hold your own event or fundraising challenge, check out our Angels in Action section to set up your own fundraiser page!

Check out the links to find out more about each event.

Thanks for being Angels!

Global Angels UK Launch Concert, 2005

In 2005, we held our official UK launch concert for Global Angels at Coutts Bank.

Lemar and Lily Cole became Ambassadors, joining Daniel Bedingfield and Natasha Bedingfield in an amazing concert officially launching the Global Angels Foundation. It was a red carpet affair as the team at Coutts went out of their way to providing spectacular fare and hosting our event.

Adam St Private Members Club kindly donated their venue for our after-party, sponsored by Sony BMG, bringing them both in as Corporate Angels alongside Coutts and SRLV. Christian Elliott kindly stepped in and produced the event alongside his network of friends, all donating their skills and time.

World’s Highest Landing- World Record Skydiving Stunt

The Global Angels "Earn Your Wings" 2009 campaign is off to an amazing start!

Two of our Global Angels Ambassadors have made a new World Skydiving record, catapulting our fund raising for street kids and orphans in Asia, towards our $1 million goal.

World Skydiving Champion, Wendy Smith from New Zealand, Tandem Master Tom Noonan from the US, along with Wing Commander Jai Kishan from the Indian Air Force, made a successful landing last week (28th October) at the Kala Patthar plateau, landing at an altitude of 17,192 feet (5,242m), near Mt. Everest Base Camp.

Check out the video below!...

They are the only skydivers to land on this highest drop zone, which means it is potentially a new World Record !

This establishes the new team from Explore Himalaya, led by Wendy Smith, as one of the leading extreme adventure companies in Asia.

This new feat firmly ensconces the Global Angels Angel Skydive Team in the adventure history books and is in preparation for next year's adventures. In 2010 our team will be attempting even more skydiving records during May and October seasons and we are looking to encourage more adventurers to "Earn Their Wings" and join the Angel Skydive Team.

Last year, we kicked off our "Earn Your Wings" fundraising campaign in September, when Wendy Smith, Tom Noonan and Global Angels Founder, Molly Bedingfield, all took part in an Everest Skydive. It was the first ever skydiving adventure in the Himalayas and to date the campaign has raised nearly $300,000 for street kids and orphans in Asia.

Molly Bedingfield, World Highest Charity SkyDive, Mt Everest!

They jumped from at plane at nearly 3,000 meters with Mt Everest as the backdrop... and Molly raised nearly $300,000 for street kids and orphans in Asia.

Step Up America – Global Angels US Launch,Times Square

Throughout the day on November 6th, 2007, and into the evening, Global Angels took over the NASDAQ, MTV and Reuters screens in Times Square with an animated presentation of Global Angels, for our celebrations for the launch of Global Angels US.

NASDAQ and Reuters featured our Iconic Angel onto the big screens with celebrities  Stepping UP  as Angels for our live photo shoot in Hard Rock Cafe, Times Square.

International Ambassadors, Bear Grylls, Natasha Bedingfield,  Sean Kingston, Darryl Mc Daniels (Run DMC), Daniel Bedingfield, Stepped Up alongside Petra Nemcova, Martha Redbone (top Native America Female Artist), Tamara Ecclestone, The Pierces, Lamont Hiebert (Ten Shekels Shirt),  Jennifer Coolidge (from Legally Blonde),  Ethan Zohn, Aaron Cohen, Edward Tricomi (celebrity stylist), Hofit Golan and Nikola Rachelley.

Our American supporters and friends were invited to become Angels and join us in our mission to transform the lives of millions of the most vulnerable children across the world.

We had great coverage of the event including MTV, TRL LIVE, GMTV, Hello Magazine, Fashion TV, Seventeen.com, and 16 radio stations.

This was a historic day for us. Hard Rock International was celebrating with us by making us their global charity partner and hosting our launch concert in  the Times Square Cafe. Special thanks to Go West for donating their creative expertise and resources to create the animated presentation on the Nasdaq and Reuters screens and our event video; to Photo Journalist Hazel Thompson for donating her photography for our Step Up photo shoot and live screening in Times Square; and to Elliott Parr and the Hard Rock production team for managing and producing the live show.

Hard Rock also launched our Feed A Child For A Year campaign globally, by rolling out a massive fund raising initiative in every Hard Rock Café, Casino and Hotel venue in over 50 countries worldwide. We were thrilled with the Hard Rock /Global Angels partnership as they also promoted the campaign on their websites, held fundraising events, and sold Hard Rock merchandise in order to raise funds for our programme.

Hard Rock International is a company with a huge philanthropic heart, demonstrating great passion to help the world’s most vulnerable children. Every customer buying goods was asked to Step UP, be an Angel and help us reach our goal of feeding and educating 1 million kids in the developing world. The Hard Rock campaign championed projects in our school feeding programmes in Costa Rica, India, Mozambique and Cambodia to help us feed 3,500 children every school day for a year.

As part of the Hard Rock Global Angels launch of Feed A Child, we held exclusive VIP concerts in Hard Rock London on the 27th November and Mumbai on the 8th December.
