Carol Kidd Concert with support from Esther O’Connor

In April Esther O’Connor put on a magical evening at one of Glasgow’s most beautiful venues and with one of the country’s most inspiring and gloriously gifted singers Carol Kidd. Carol has had a sparkling career spanning 25 years. She has won the acclaim and respect of the giants of the music industry including Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet. The late ‘Old Blue Eyes’ even asking her to perform with him at his Ibrox stadium concert.

All the profits from this wonderful evening, including all ticket sales, raffle tickets and donations went directly to supporting the ‘Natwange Youth Village’ in Zambia. This is a very under funded orphanage in the township of Chipulukusu.

On the night, Esther and her team raised over £11,000! Well done guys!

Natasha Bedingfield, Sean Kingston, Bear Grylls, and Petra Nemkova Launch Global Angels US, in Hard Rock Cafe, Times Square, New York, Nov 6th 2007

Global Angels took over the NASDAQ, MTV and Reuters screens in Times Square, projecting animated presentations championing children's causes and a live Step Up celebrity photo shoot onto the big screens, to launch Global Angels US on Nov. 6th.

Americans were encouraged to become Angels and join us in our mission to transform the lives of millions of the most vulnerable children across the world. We had great coverage of the event including MTV TRL LIVE, GMTV, LK Today, Hello Magazine, Fashion TV, Seventeen.com, and 16 radio stations.

This was a historic day for us after a whole year working on the launch. We combined our Global Angels US launch with Hard Rock's promotion of our Feed A Child For A Year campaign, which will roll out in every Hard Rock Café, Casino and Hotel venue in over 50 countries worldwide over December. We are thrilled with the Hard Rock Global Angels partnership as they promote the campaign on their websites, alongside selling Hard Rock limited edition merchandise, in order to raise funds for our programme.

Global Angels Ambassadors, Sean Kingston, Natasha Bedingfield, Petra Nemkova, Bear Grylls, Daniel Bedingfield, The Pierces, Martha Redbone (top female Native American Artist), Tamara Ecclestone, Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Nikola Rachelle, Hofit Golan, Edward Tricomi (celebrity stylist), Lamont Hiebert (Ten Shekels Shirt), and Aaron Cohen, were joined in our celebrations by Jennifer Coolidge (from Legally Blonde), Ethan Zohn for our Step Up Angel photo shoot.

We are so happy to announce that we are the chosen charity to benefit from the new musical 'Never Forget'!

The production, which features the incredible catalogue of music by Take That, is a feel-good comedy about love, friendship, ambition and betrayal. With an original story written by Danny Brocklehurst, NEVER FORGET is a brand new musical about the members of the unlikeliest Take That tribute band.

Set in Manchester, the show follows the rollercoaster journey of our young hero ‘Ash’ and his best mates in the pursuit of their dreams. Along the way each of them discovers that pretending to be someone else can sometimes help you find out who you really are…

It promises to be an amazing show, and we are so happy to be part of it! Have a look at the boys Stepping Up in front of our Angel in the gallery below!

Hard Rock Ambassadors of Rock

The Hard Rock have just held their Ambassadors of Rock concert in Hyde Park, London, where we were one of the charity partners. Chris Cornell and Aerosmith delivered a great show amongst legends like Peter Gabriel and Crowded House. Despite the torrential rain, supporters braved the photoshoot backstage in the VIP area. Aaron Cohen, our international 'modern-day slave hunter', flew in from LA to begin talks for our Asian concerts in Thailand at the Royal Palace. Needless to say, we had a ball.

Hamish Dodds, CEO of Hard Rock International visits 'Project in Red Light District', India

We have teamed up with human rights charity, Jubilee Action, as they rescue and rehabilitate orphaned and abandoned children from the red light district, of Mumbai, India.

Deveraj and his team literally rescue children from brothels and prostitution and give them a new home and way of life away from the commercial sex industry and slavery.

Hamish Dodds, CEO of Hard Rock International, and a member of the Global Angels International Advisory Board, has recently returned from visiting this wonderful project. Here are his impressions...

"I was truly impressed by the passion and dedication you (Deveraj) and your teams have for the various rehabilitation projects you are spearheading in Mumbai. It was very clear to me that the task you have ahead of you is immense, but that with your leadership and with the support of your sponsors you really do have the opportunity to make a difference in so many people's lives.

I will be personally championing your organisation's efforts, and I am already looking forward to my next visit, and to helping you and your team make progress in your quest."

Hamish wanted me to pass on this message to you, “Thanks for your personal support and commitment to a great cause. As you know, children are important to all of us, and it is easy to underestimate the sheer number of poor, malnourished and abused children across our globe. My role as an International Ambassador for Global Angels, will be to try to do my small part in helping improve the prospects for these "Angels", and I hope you will continue to support our cause.”

From the 1st till the 5th of November, the annual Spirit of Christmas Fair was on at Olympia, and this year, Global Angels was the chosen charity to benefit from this fair.

The fair was a great place to come and get all your Christmas presents under one roof, and support the charity! We were manning the shopping drop-off point, where you could leave your bags for a small fee while you carry on shopping.

We also raffled off the Christmas Tree, which has been decorated by our Ambassadors, and Natasha Bedingfield placed the Angel on top of the tree!

Thank you to everyone who came to support us!
