The International Leadership of The Global Angels Foundation
This team provides the leadership of the Global Angels Foundation and the oversight of Global Angels internationally.
My passion for kids has been created by 25 years of active management, leadership training, mentoring and motivational speaking within the international charity sector. This has brought me alongside thousands of inspirational and dedicated charity workers on all continents and some of world's most vulnerable children.
In May 2003, after seeing the need for a new model of charity that connected with a new generation of intelligent givers, who wanted to know that their money went to where children needed it most, I was compelled to create and found the vision, mission and strategy for the Global Angels Foundation.
In December 2003, joined and supported by my adult children, Daniel, Natasha and Nikola Bedingfield, we formed the Founding Global Angels Board and applied for charity status in the UK. We received full status in February, 2004.
We envisaged Global Angels Foundation spreading across the world and becoming a significant people movement that changed the course of history for the world's most disadvantaged children.
We dreamed of hosting international campaigns and events that would champion the causes of children and youth, raising awareness and millions of pounds that we would give in grants to empower hundreds of best practice projects in every country of the world.
We decided that the Global Angels Promise to give 100% of public donations directly to "on the ground" projects empowering children was essential to our vision and values.
January 2005, our first staff member, Ian Lethbridge, joined the Global Angels Team as International Projects Co-ordinator to help build our International Advisory Board and best practice project partnerships.
June 2005, we publicly launched Global Angels Foundation through a concert held at Coutts, The Strand, featuring Daniel, Natasha, Lemar and Lily Cole.
I have also been practicing as a professional counselor and life coach, working within the charity sector, business and entertainment industry over the last 30 years.
Previous to Global Angels, I was head teacher of two inner city schools working on a pilot programme, reproducible in any culture. We worked closely with children, parents and teachers, experimenting with new models of education, focussing on what each child was good at and helping build their confidence.
I am a qualified Physiotherapist, studying in Auckland, New Zealand and qualifying in December 1978.
I have been married to John, for 30 years, and am the proud mother of Daniel, Natasha, Nikola and Joshua.
Peter is also one of the International Directors of Global Angels Foundation.
He is the CEO of AIG Private Bank. Joining AIG in 1997 as Head of Trading & Treasury, Peter assembled a team of traders, salesmen and account officers, covering the financial markets. From 2000-205, he was the Chief Financial Officer and then Chief Operating Officer of AIG Private Bank.
Prior to joining AIG, Peter was Deputy General Manager for Bank Julius Baer in New York with direct responsibility for the trading room and active advisory services for private clients. He is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in La Neuveville and completed the International Senior Management Program (ISMP) at Harvard Business School.
Peter lives in Zurich with his wife Gianina, who is a Global Angels Ambassador, and they have two sons, Christof and Stephan.
Daniel is another of the International Directors of Global Angels Foundation and is well-known in the music industry as an international artist.
He is renowned for motivating people to make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering and wants to empower disadvantaged children and youth.
An outspoken leader in the anti-trafficking campaign, Stop The Traffik, Daniel is working to abolish the modern slave trade.
Daniel's focus is campaigning to end the sexual exploitation of children and young trafficked men and women, and to rescue trafficked children.
