Alongside Christian, Peter, Daniel and myself we have The International Projects Advisory Board made up of respected and trusted experts, each working in their own ‘fields’ around the world to help fulfil the vision to make the world a safer and kinder place for all children.

They play a key role in researching, recommending, monitoring and expanding the international Global network of projects we support. Each project we champion and fundraise for will be have been personally visited and carefully followed up by one of this Board.

As Chair of this Advisory Board, I would like to introduce you to each of them.

As President and CEO, Hamish overseas all Hard Rock’s businesses, including franchise cafes, bars, casinos and live music venues across 45 countries.

Previously was CEO of Cabcorp for 16 years, and President and General Manager for PepsiCo in South America, Central America and the Caribbean. He and his wife are also Global Angels Ambassadors and has recently made Global Angels Hard Rock’s global charity partner.
 
 
   
Sir Kevin is CEO of GKN plc. and was awarded the CBE in 1997 and appointed Knight Bachelor earlier this year, 2007.

He is also currently Co-Chairman with the Minister for Industry of the Government’s Manufacturing Forum, Deputy President of the Society of British Aerospace Companies Ltd and Non-executive Director of Scottish and Southern Energy plc.

This year Sir Kevin and the GKN global executive have committed to match fund their 40,000 staff's philanthropic activities. They have pledged to give up to $1million to Global Angels projects in Africa through a joint venture with Adventure Explorer, Bear Gryllsin the Mission Everest project.(www.gknmissioneverest.com)

He joined British Aerospace in 1980, became Commercial Director in 1990 with an appointment to the Military Aircraft Limited Board, Deputy Group Managing Director in1997, Group Managing Director – New Business in 1998, with responsibility for BAe’s Domestic and International Sales and Marketing activities. He continued with these responsibilities until he joined GKN in 1999.

Previously Kevin has also served as an adviser to the Board of GCHQ and as a member of the Ministerial Sub-Committee on Smart Procurement.
 
 
 
 
In the course of a diverse 20-year career in the hospitality industry, David Bowd has proven to be a skilled executive, visionary hotelier and a sought after leader. David is currently employed by Morgans Hotel Group, a rapidly growing company that offers both staff and guests a hip, cutting edge experience in the world of hotels as theatre. As the Senior Vice President – Operations, David leads a team of Inspired Operations Directors as well as offers a vision and support to the General Managers throughout the portfolio of 11 hotels in the US and the UK.

David has honed his hospitality knowledge working for many esteemed hotel companies in his native United Kingdom as well as Australia. Before David assumed his current role in New York in June 2007, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Morgans Hotel Group in the U.K. His responsibilities included overseeing the management of Sanderson, the “hippest hotel in Europe 2006” (Trip adviser) and St Martins Lane – “...a new universe” (French Vogue). During this time David’s passion and talent resulted in very high growth in both NOI and RevPAR at the properties.
 
 
   
David is founding partner in Green Harvest Technologies, developing, producing, and marketing new applications of biobased materials in consumer products. His work focuses on strategic partnerships to enable a shift away from a petrochemical economy towards a sustainable economy. As a B Corporation, it is building a for-benefit business modeling social, economic and ecological responsibility.

David has over 25 years of experience as a social entrepreneur and non-profit executive. He was founder and director of the Learning Alliance, a premier adult education and social action organization.

As educator, facilitator and advocate he has employed a holistic participatory approach to problem solving designing opportunities for individual empowerment, community involvement and social engagement tacking issues as diverse as environment, health, affordable housing, energy, food systems, and community development, all with a strong focus on sustainability.

He sits on the board of numerous non-profit organizations.

He is a father of two and lives in New York.
 
 
 
 
Jonathan Azu currently serves as Vice President of Strategic Music and Entertainment Partnerships for CBS RADIO; a position he has had since January of 2006.

Jonathan joined CBS RADIO in September of 1999 as Marketing Coordinator for Soft Rock 102.5, KEZK in St. Louis, MO. In April of 2001, KEZK promoted Jonathan to Director of Marketing, where he oversaw station events and sales promotions. While handling his Marketing Director responsibilities, Jonathan also oversaw the development of the station’s first Internet Development department. In the fall of 2001, Jonathan was appointed to oversee the Internet Development department as Director. In his new role, Jonathan focused on managing the design, implementation and sales initiatives for CBS RADIO’s KEZK.com and Y98.com.

In the spring of 2003, Jonathan accepted a position, in New York City, as Account Manager in
CBS RADIO’s newly formed corporate marketing and sales team, the Altitude Group. As Account Manager, Jonathan coordinated program activation for CBS RADIO’s number one grossing client, AOL. Less than one year from joining CBS RADIO’s corporate office, Jonathan was elevated to Director of Marketing and Sales. In his new role, Jonathan was responsible for managing sales development of the AOL account as well as generation of new and incremental revenue opportunities from prospective and current clients.

In January of 2006, CBS RADIO announced that Jonathan, who had served as Director of
Marketing and Sales since 2005, had been promoted to a newly-created position, Vice President of Strategic Music and Entertainment Partnerships. In his new role Jonathan focuses on developing integrated multi-media programs that link advertisers and the entertainment industry with CBS RADIO's powerful brands. Jonathan continues to report to David Goodman, President of Marketing and New Media.

Jonathan graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Drake University where he served as Student Body President of Activities and was the beneficiary of the Board of Governors Leadership Award. Jonathan is an active member of the Drake University Alumni Association Advisory Board and the recipient of the 2007 Drake University Young Alumni Achievement Award.
 
 
   
Linda is the Founder and Chairman of Les Concierges.

A 40-year-old expat Kiwi living in San Francisco, she is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully built two multi-million dollar businesses in the US, including a dot-com that not only survived the global tech crash but is also profitable. She says she is part of the group of 'Silicon Valley survivors' and her goal is to build a billion-dollar company.

Prior to joining LesConcierges, Linda was the Co-Founder and CEO of iSaySo, a web-enabled personal services company focusing on next-generation personal assistance-based loyalty solutions.

Before that, Linda was Co-Founder and CEO of Dispatch Management Services Corp (NASDAQ: DMSC), an international on demand courier and black car company. DMSC had more than 6,500 employees and independent contractors in 65 cities throughout the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand, and grew revenues to over $200 million in two years via an industry roll-up. Linda took DMSC public in 1998 and oversaw the operation of more than 60 contact centres in the US, Europe and New Zealand. An initial public offering for DMS raised $90 million in the US.

Prior to DMS, Linda was a Partner at A.T. Kearney (now subsidiary of EDS) where she specialised in financial institution supply chain management, direct marketing, profit improvement, outsourcing, and risk management.

Before joining A.T. Kearney, Linda was a Management Consultant with Price Waterhouse where she worked on business strategy, reorganisation, mergers and integration, and reengineering.

Linda has appeared on CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg and has written articles for several publications. Linda earned a Bachelor of Business Studies at Massey University in New Zealand and an MBA from Wharton. Linda is also on the advisory board of the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Silicon Valley beachhead.
 
 
 
 
Willard is the Founder & CEO of Kobalt, a leading independent music publisher. With a vision for a more modern, efficient and transparent music publishing model that would better service the needs of the songwriter and copyright holder, he founded Kobalt which has offices in London, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, Berlin and Stockholm, as well as agents in over 20 major territories, Kobalt administers more than 100,000 copyrights worldwide on behalf of over 500 clients.

With 8 years experience of Corporate Strategy (LEK) and banking (Citibank); as the founder of Telegram Publishing, as well as his 10-year management consulting experience for major companies in the financial and transportation sectors, helped him recognize how administration models from other industries, such as financial services companies, could be applied to manage the complex information flow in the global collections process.

Robert is Head of Wealth Management Solutions within Private Wealth Management. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1997 as a financial analyst and became a senior investment professional. He became a managing director in 2006.

Prior to joining the firm, Robert worked for Bank Leumi. Robert is a trustee for Laniado UK and a mentor for The Prince’s Trust. He graduated from Leeds University with a Joint Honours in Economics and Management in 1993. Robert and his wife, Simone, have one child Isabella and live in North London.
 
 
 
 
Peter Lowes is a Principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP in New York and leads the Global Outsourcing Advisory Services Practice, serving financial institutions and large corporations in the areas of business process and IT outsourcing and offshoring.

Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, Peter was a Senior Managing Director at Hawk Holdings, a private technology services investment and holding company and before that a Managing Director at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he was co-founder of EDS’ Global Financial Markets Group, a 3,500 person global division. Peter spent his early career as a systems architect and project manager at Logica in London and New York after graduating BSc(Eng)(Hons) ACGI from Imperial College, University of London
 
 
   
Marksteen is co-founding partner with Mike Horne of ASHA. He is highly regarded within the branding industry with a reputation for being an inspiring creative strategist.

On the 2nd of November 2006, ASHA picked up a Silver award for their work with Global Angels at the 10th Annual Cream Awards in Birmingham. ASHA was nominated in two categories and picked up the award for Best Use of Illustration/Animation for the Global Angels Step Up Campaign.

He has created and directed numerous global identity programmes, including: ‘Welcome to Estonia’, brand identity project commissioned by the Estonian Government; Award winning brand identity for the merger of PricewaterhouseCoopers; the brand identity for the merger between Pharmacia and Upjohn Pharmaceuticals which won several gold awards, and the Niceday brand for WH Smith, which won extensive awards. Mike Horne is co founding partner of ASHA (Arther Horne Steen Adamson). He has made a career out of developing marketing that delivers business results. He is an accomplished speaker, with regular engagements ranging from International CRM conferences, to events at the Houses of Parliament and business conferences.

Having spent seven years working on the client side with BAT, he moved to Brann and ultimately ran the flagship London office of the merged Evans Hunt Scott and Brann agencies - EHSBrann.
As Managing Director he oversaw award winning work for clients such as Tesco, Volvo, the AA and Barclays, as well as developing the agency skills in web based marketing and winning on-line accounts such as Egg and Adidas.

Alongside Marksteen Adamson, Mike picked up a Silver award with ASHA for their work with Global Angels at the 10th Annual Cream Awards in Birmingham. Denis is an accomplished business leader with over 20 years experience in senior corporate management and sales & marketing.

He also has over 20 years experience as a public speaker, trainer, teacher and community leader working in the South East and wider London area; as well as on the national and international scene.

As a former singer in The Wades and as a music Industry practitioner, he has many years of exposure to the media including, TV and radio. He still has an association with the music & media industries.

Denis has also served a number of organisations in a voluntary capacity and has a keen interest in philanthropy, local & civic politics and community development. His life’s passion is to see people equipped empowered & released into their full potential. He enjoys making a contribution though coaching, motivational speaking and personal development training.
 
 
 
 
Nigel Gifford OBE Frgs is the founder of High & Wild, a UK based travel company renowned for being different. The company plans, operates and provides a wide range of active adventures, cultural and imaginative travel and special interest journeys across the world for its clients in this new and fast growing industry.

During more than 30 years of adventure and exploration from the arctic to the equator and beyond, Nigel has climbed and trekked amongst some of the world’s greatest and remote mountain ranges, including a successful mountaineering expedition to Mt Everest (8850m), rafted the Great Siang Gorge of the Brahmaputra River in the Tribal Areas of North East India, and as a skydiver has made over 1000 freefall descents.

Nigel is a successful author on expedition and adventure topics, and consults for film, TV and interactive game companies on adventure programmes and film promotion.

Prior to founding High & Wild Nigel launched and managed the distribution of the international footwear brand Merrell Outdoors in UK and mainland Europe, before selling out his business interests to pursue a career in adventure and travel.

He was awarded the OBE in 1996 for services to conservation and British interests overseas.

Graeme is Managing Director of three pharmacies in Wellington, New Zealand

He was also Founder and Managing Director of Porirua City Fitness Centre, with 2,500 members and 45 staff, from 1990-2000.

Graeme was made a Justice of the Peace in 2004.
