This mothers shame was summed up in this one sentence. Most women are forced into prostitution by poverty, some are kidnapped and cheated. Many are trafficked from over the boarder in Nepal. The shelter is a place of safety for her, while a few streets away her mother works servicing upto 15 men a night. © Hazel Thompson - used with kind permission Reshma: aged 6, sits on her bed which her mother will use to service about 15 clients a night. Her home, a bed behind a curtain. A brothel normally houses between 8 to 10 women and their children. Reshma doesn’t attend school but spends her time running errands for clients that visit the brothel.
